For people with Colombian employer or client contracts.
Route overview
Local employment or service contract
Typical timeline / duration: 2-5 months
Important notes
Have a Colombian legal-entity employer and a signed employment contract for the role in Colombia.
Submit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contract-summary form and an employer motivation letter explaining the role, the applicant's suitability, why a Colombian worker was not hired, and the direct jobs created.
Provide the employer's bank certificates or statements for the preceding four months showing the required average income, plus the applicant's apostilled or legalised qualification and experience evidence.
For a regulated profession, obtain the relevant Colombian professional licence or authorisation and provide health coverage or insurance and the other current visa-application documents.
The M worker visa can be valid for up to three years and gives work permission only for the position, entity, profession, or activity stated in the visa.
It can accumulate time toward a resident visa, but it is employer- and activity-specific rather than an open work permit or a remote-work route.
