For real startup founders rather than ordinary remote work.
Route overview
Approved business plan + residence
Typical timeline / duration: Up to two years initially; extensions can be granted for up to three years at a time
Important notes
Submit an innovative business plan approved by the Start-up Denmark expert panel.
Show that you will run and actively participate in the Danish business rather than act only as a passive investor.
Prepare sufficient funds for your stay, passport, business plan, company evidence, and application documents.
After approval, complete the required biometrics and residence/work-permit steps, and apply for an extension before expiry.
The residence and work permit starts from the grant date, is initially available for up to two years, and may be extended for up to three years at a time.
Expert-panel approval of the business plan does not by itself guarantee residence; immigration authorities still assess funds, identity, and other residence conditions.
