Choose the residence basis that matches the intended stay, such as non-tourist temporary residence, family connection, property or investment, study, or another recognised category.
Apply through the Egyptian passport, immigration, and nationality authority or the responsible office, using the current residence form and the passport, photographs, fee, and lawful-entry evidence requested.
Prove the local connection or financial basis for the selected category, including accommodation, family, business, property, or other supporting documents where relevant.
Maintain lawful residence and renew before expiry; residence permission does not authorise activities that are outside the approved purpose.
Egypt has several foreigner-residence categories and procedures rather than one universal long-stay visa. The Ministry of Interior identifies separate temporary non-tourist and tourist residence services, so the correct basis matters.
A property or visitor-style residence should not be treated as an automatic work or digital-nomad permission; work requires its own authorisation.
