Business or investment activity
Typical timeline / duration: 1-3 months
Important notes
Have a genuine business purpose in India, such as establishing or exploring a business venture, attending business activity, or making an eligible investment.
Provide company or invitation letters and documents proving the bona fide purpose, proposed activity, financial standing, and relevant business expertise.
Submit the passport, visa application, photographs, and any company-registration, project, investment, or host-organisation evidence requested by the Indian mission.
A Business Visa is not an Employment Visa and does not authorise ordinary employment for an Indian employer; the permitted activities must match the visa purpose.
A Business Visa can be issued for up to five years and is commonly multiple-entry. The application must match the business purpose and supporting company or project documents; any further stay requires the Indian extension procedure.
