Work remotely from Kenya for an employer or company based outside Kenya, or work as a freelancer remotely for a company based outside Kenya.
Hold a valid passport and provide proof of the remote-work arrangement, accommodation in Kenya, and a clean criminal record from the country of habitual residence.
Show assured annual income of at least USD 55,000 from sources outside Kenya under the 2024 Class N regulation.
Undertake not to accept paid or unpaid employment or other income-generating activity in Kenya for an employer or company domiciled in Kenya.
Kenya's 2024 amendment regulations formally inserted Class N: Digital Nomad into the immigration regulations. The route is designed for foreign-income remote work and expressly excludes local employment.
The regulation sets the eligibility conditions but the current eFNS application workflow, permit duration, fees, and document checklist should be confirmed with Immigration before relying on the route.
