For foreign-source income, the current published Migraciones procedure states net permanent income of at least US$1,000 per month and a declaration that funds enter Peru through an SBS-supervised bank or financial institution. Confirm acceptance of the specific evidence before relying on it.
The published resident-visa procedure is for applicants outside Peru. Any in-country change of status requires its own current procedure.
Rentista is passive-income residence, not the Nómada digital category. The current published procedure is an online Migraciones application and does not establish a dedicated digital-nomad operational route.
The official procedure says the applicant must be outside Peru for obtaining the status, requires a current passport, background certificates and pension/permanent-income evidence, and gives an online filing workflow with a stated 30-business-day service period. Its page record says last change 17 June 2024, so confirm that the checklist and fee remain current before filing.
Law 32421 was published on 15 August 2025, but its third final provision makes commencement conditional on publication of its regulations. No final commencement-triggering regulation was verified on 12 October 2026; do not advertise either a guaranteed two-year or an already-operative five-year citizenship shortcut.
The December 2025 consultation report concerns draft regulations, not proof that final regulations commenced.
