Qatar's standard work residence is initiated by a local employer or sponsor. The usual file includes the employment contract, passport, sponsor application, medical examination, fingerprints, and residence-permit steps; regulated roles may also require attested qualifications.
Qatar also has separate business and investor categories, so an applicant who is not taking local employment should not treat the ordinary work route as a substitute for those routes.
