Important notes
Admission to an authorised Spanish education centre for a full-time programme leading to a recognised degree or certificate.
Sufficient funds for living costs and return travel; the current rule uses 100% of IPREM monthly for the student, with separate family amounts where applicable.
Health insurance from an insurer authorised to operate in Spain, plus a valid passport and proof of enrolment/fees.
For stays over six months, criminal-record evidence and any required medical documentation; foreign documents need legalisation/apostille and sworn Spanish translation.
Applications should normally be submitted at least two months before studies begin.
For higher education, applications from inside Spain may be possible while legally present; check the current procedure and age rules.
