Be accepted for full-time study at an eligible Hungarian public school, state-recognised higher-education institution, authorised foreign institution, or qualifying preparatory course.
Submit the admission or student-status evidence, proof of tuition payment, and any language evidence required for the programme.
Show legally acquired funds for living costs, accommodation, healthcare, and onward travel, using savings, regular income, family support, or a scholarship.
Declare real Hungarian accommodation and provide comprehensive health-insurance evidence, a valid passport, photograph, application, and fees.
The study residence permit is normally valid for at least one year and up to three years, subject to the training and passport validity, and can be extended.
Students may work up to 30 hours per week during study periods and full-time for up to 90 days per year outside study periods. After successful completion, a valid study permit can support an application to seek a job or start a business.
