Be admitted to an approved full-time university, university-college, vocational, or other eligible study programme in Norway.
Pay the application fee and show funds of at least NOK 15,488 per month or NOK 170,368 for the academic year for university or university-college study, plus tuition where applicable.
Have somewhere to live and provide the admission, passport, financial, and other documents required by UDI; the authorities must also consider return circumstances after study.
Apply for the residence permit for studies if the programme lasts more than three months and complete the required identity and biometrics process.
A study permit normally includes permission to work up to 20 hours per week during term and full-time in holidays, but it does not allow self-employment or running a business in Norway.
The study period does not itself count toward permanent residence; recheck the current UDI funds figure and tuition evidence for the academic year you apply for.
