Identify the applicable category: IGI's D/AM1 process is employer-filed for specified groups including highly qualified workers; D/AM2 for permanent, seasonal and cross-border workers is filed by a qualifying placement agency or authorised employer.
Prepare the registered employment contract, passport, category-specific qualifications, criminal-record and medical-insurance evidence. D/AM2 also has occupation-list conditions; do not assume any job offer is enough.
Follow the current category's single-application, visa and residence procedures. The older employment-notice process and its decision time must not be presented as the only current route.
IGI's 15 September 2026 clarification says employer registration/authorisation and D/AM2 single-application flows were temporarily disabled following a court suspension of the shortage-list administrative act. It expressly says this is not a technical malfunction; unaffected functions remain available.
The 25 September notice covers Article 56(9) D/AM2 employer-change extensions that cannot be transmitted. It promises individual assessment after submission functionality resumes, considering objective filing obstacles and proportionality—not automatic approval or extension.
As of this 12 October review, no later official restoration notice was verified. Ask IGI about your specific process and expiry date; the notices do not establish an automatic grace period or suspend every visa.
Preparation checklist
Ask the employer to identify D/AM1, D/AM2 or another applicable procedure.
Confirm the employer/agency is authorised for the chosen filing channel.
Collect the registered contract and the category's identity, insurance, criminal-record and qualification documents.
For a blocked filing, retain portal-error evidence and dated correspondence with IGI.
Check your permission expiry and obtain case-specific filing instructions rather than assuming a grace period.
